'Super Natural'. Physics Room, Christchurch. Curated by Emily Cormack.
Holding my Breath was an attempt to court failure. Re-skinning golf umbrella's with 20gsm tissue paper which was glued together and then oiled. A small oscillating fan animated the balls to orbit their tethers and gently sway. The forms were inspired by Dandelion seed heads, so brittle and beautiful that you just simply want to blow them away. In this case I was holding my breath to see if the brittle, vulnerable works would last the duration of the show.
